2nd Annual Craft Bazaar
SATIN MOON CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Our Christmas craft bazaar is a very special event we premiered last year. It is devoted to the very talented designers, teachers, staff and friends of Satin Moon, and dedicated to you.
I start by drastically marking down the prices of our inspirational “retired” store models mainly made by Joan Gorrill ( on the right .)
Once the models have earned their keep selling patterns and fabrics, and the feature fabrics are gone, the models need a permanent home and are repriced way below cost.
This year local designers Ursula Riegel, Susan Teece, Anne Redding and Lisa Girard asked if they could include their retired models. What an opportunity to get top quality designer originals !
To make it more fun, teachers and staff also brought in their handmade delights. I started my shopping with Sue H. beautiful hand knits and sewn baby items,
and a hand dyed, hand spun and lovingly knit baby hat from her daughter in Australia.
To further tempt grandmas there are Lisa’s reversible baby quilt models with booties
and Jerry’s super deals for only $35 ( only 2 left by Thursday.)
My sewing friends will be delighted with a Susan M felt pincushion creation
turtle pin cushions by Susan Teece
or a classic cushion by Kathy G. I HAD to get just one for my collection!
There are a tempting multitude of bags by Lisa, Ursula and Susan T
to be filled with practical and adorable card holders by Sue and Anne
and custom note books and journals
For the kitchen divas on my list I’m picking up an apron by Anne and choosing from the dazzling array of great place mats and table toppers
creative and lovely tea cozies
and Shania’s brow coolers and hot holders
It is hard not to be tempted by the fabulous wall quilts and wall art and smaller accents for home dec like Ursula’s dramatic pillows
mini banner Country Charm by Catherine Benson- great for a kitchen or bathroom
poetic art pieces by Daphne Greig for the guest room or home spa
Mini Kimono by Ursula for a quite corner
and Bonnies’ delightful theme pillowcases
as well as lap to king bed size quilts by Eileen Wright and others to transform a bedroom.
Personal accessories I’m contemplating are a lovely jacket from Lisa
and a pin or two by Sarah
It is a joy just to wander through the wealth of beauty and creativity. But what a bonus to get all my shopping done in one fabulous treasure chest of gifts !
But all this shopping just totally tuckered out Chico, I better cover him up with another one of Jerry’s quilts , and call it a day!
