QUILTING IN THE TREES – CONTINUED

Posted in Special Events tagged , , , , , , at 10:34 pm by satinmoon

Pearson College , the magically setting for  the 25th anniversary

of Quilting in the Trees .

We were invited to the final evening and feast of the

Rediscovery Celebration

where we were  serenaded by the clear sweet voice of

Haida Gwaii   chanteur ,

and world wide  representation of first nations women and   men

for the

First Salmon ceremony

(video)

The feast began with the ceremonial fish,

whose bones had to collected

and given back to the sea.

Bright and early the next morning

 the serious fun began:

dyeing

rinsing

printing,

collecting

selecting

arranging

stitching

auditioning

guessing

thread barffing

fraying

quilting

documenting

until it was time to eat!

Then it was time to share  talents,

be  inspired by teachers,

play games,

 enjoy a little libation,

be entertained  by diva  Judy Farrow,

and her magical quilts ,

and finally rest !

Then up again early,

 to bring  visions

together

to transform

and delight

with  individual

beauty.

Well done VQG!
