The international students are gone,

and the international quilters and DIVAS  arrive at Pearson College,

for the 24th annual Quilting in the Trees with the Victoria Quilters Guild

Anna Buzzalino

provided  useful and artfully lettered tags

for individual student

to supplement projects

in her two poetic imagery classes

of fabric painting and transfer lettering .

Arlene and Kelly  created a fabulous

Mystery Quilt with Design experience

The students exhibited a fine diversity

of design solutions .

Lisa Girard of Tivoli Designs

challenged her  x-block students to the max

creating  Broken Rainbows

from strips

considerable concentration,

and inspirational hi-jinks from Lisa.

Kathy Harris ( center) WOWED us all

with her Village to Landscape class .

Her Village People created absolute jewels.

Inspiration was provided by

from  Karen Eckmeier

Susan Purney Mark

Cropped and edited students photos ( with enthusiasm )

then soothingly mentored  the creation of exquisite

Sheer Illusions embellished fabric photos.

Above the dock in the floating biology building

Susan demystified screen Printing  for Quilters

with Thermofax and many other screen techniques.

A number of quilters, like my favourite storyteller Shirley, chose to work on their own projects,

like this   pattern from Brenda Hennings .

Strip poker

for quilters , was my most memorable  FUN !

Sorry to all of you who missed it. Make the 25th anniversary gathering

a must do for you in 2011.
